Many customers come to us asking about building their own home, but not knowing what to expect or how to get started.  Many of our customers are first time home buyers, or at least their first time building, so here is a brief synopsis of the building process.  First of all, we have to find a floor plan that is suited for each individual client.  We do this by meeting with the client, discussing their specific needs, such as style, size, budget, etc., then we either start with a blueprint that we currently have for inspiration, and make needed changes to fit each particular client's needs.  Or, many of our customers have found a plan online that they like, but once again, want to make several changes.  In fact, most homes we build are a collaboration of different aspects of several homes, all pieced together in the culmination of the perfect home that fits all the needs of that specific client.  Once we have that basic floor plan, we begin to discuss the look of the exterior, the elevation of the home.  When those final decisions are made with the floor plan and elevation, we can then begin to assess where we believe the costs for that particular home might land.  

 

During this time, the client often meets with the bank, discussing the financial needs for the project so that the appraisal can be ordered.  Once the appraisal is completed, the construction loan can be set up for the client and we can begin building your dream home!
